Miami RB Mark Walton will enter NFL Draft

Miami RB Mark Walton has decided to enter the NFL Draft following his junior season. Walton made the announcement via his Twitter account, where he left a note thanking his coaches, teammates, and fans.

Walton sustained what amounted to a season-ending ankle injury in a Week 6 win over Florida State. Despite not playing the last 8 games of the season, Walton was still the team’s second-leading rusher with 428 yards. He also easily led the team with 7.6 yards per carry.

During the 2016 season, Walton racked up 1,117 yards and 14 touchdowns where he was also named to Third Team All-ACC.

Walton joins a potentially deep running back class and is projected as a middle round pick.
